Science Centre

July 02, 2010: I kidnapped Derek & Nancy's kids and took them to the science centre with Ben and I over the weekend. Derek thought I was nuts because it is a well-published and throughly documented fact that I do not care for children. The day was fantastic though. The kids got to spend the afternoon exploring the centre and I didn't have to poke them with the cattle prod I'd smuggled in with me even once.

On the way out, Ben was taken with the globes hanging from the ceiling in the lobby. Every time we go to the centre, they have new art on display overhead. I'm not going to lie: one of the things I love best about Ben is his willingness to appreciate art. Like a lot of boys, he is very mechanically and math based, and yet he's also drawn to books, art and photography. Some days - and today was one of them - I feel like I hit the lottery when they laid him in my arms.
